Honeywell announced it will supply a new-generation bio-waste
incineration power plant in Finland with a range of automation and
safety solutions. The new Kotka-based facility, operated by Kotkan
Energia Oy, uses municipal and industrial bio-waste to supply heat
and energy to the surrounding community and will serve as a model
for future bio-energy plants in the region.
Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF), a joint venture of GE, Hitachi and
Toshiba, has been awarded a multi-million dollar, six-year contract
to supply fuel fabrication and related reload engineering services
for Energy Northwest’s Columbia Generating Station boiling water
reactor (BWR).
A reverse osmosis (RO) system from Severn Trent Services has been
selected by Saigon Water Supply Corporation as the membrane
filtration technology for a new brackish water treatment plant being
constructed in Can Gio, an outlying coast district of Ho Chi Min
City. The facility, which will help reduce a water shortage in the
region by treating the brackish water into potable water, is being
constructed by Dang Doan Nguyen Joint Stock Co. Construction is
expected to be completed by the end of 2007.
AbTech Industries announced the completion of the storm Water
treatment system for Albany International Airport Bulk Fuel Facility
the system employs Smart Sponge Technology and exceeds SPDES (State
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) for stormwater treatment
ADA-ES, Inc. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Red River
Environmental Products, LLC has filed the air permit application
with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality to build what
would be the world's largest activated carbon (AC) production
facility. The permit application, which is required to begin
construction of the new plant, covers two production lines capable
of producing up to a total of 350 million pounds of AC per year
MWH, a provider of environmental engineering, construction and
strategic consulting services, announced that it has been selected
by Ertan Hydropower Development Company, Ltd. to provide engineering
and construction management consulting services for the Jinping I
Hydropower project in China. The hydropower produced at Jinping I
will ultimately pay for the project's construction costs, which are
estimated at RMB 24.6 billion (US $3.3 billion).
Altela, Inc.,
a desalination technology and service company, has received U.S.
EPA-based approval for the centralized produced water treatment
facility. The new facility is located at a gas well operated by
Merrion Oil and Gas Corporation, a Farmington, New Mexico-based oil
and gas exploration and production company.
