Rimbach Publishing Company

Before you browse through our web site, I would like you to know who we are and how we came to be Rimbach Publishing Inc. It had to start somewhere and it did with the founding publisher, Richard Rimbach, Sr.

Mr. Rimbach Sr., was not new to the publishing field when the first issue of Pollution Equipment News was published in 1968. In 1927, Mr. Rimbach Sr. created Instruments and Control Systems. This publication started the process control instrumentation field. He was also the first executive secretary of the Instrument Society of America (ISA) . Instruments and Control Systems, now known as I&CS, was sold along with three other publications developed through the years. That was in 1967.

In 1970, Richard Rimbach, Jr.,(1932-1994) returned to work with his father to expand Pollution Equipment News and the market. Under his leadership, the company headed into the growing pollution control field and became the leading publication providing product information to the entire pollution control field.

As the field grew, so did Pollution Equipment News. An average issue provides hundreds of product and literature reviews to approximately 90,000 professionals responsible for air, water, wastewater and hazardous waste pollution control and elimination.

March 1978 was the first issue of Industrial Hygiene News. Richard Rimbach Jr., the founding publisher, realized the importance of industrial hygiene, health and safety in the working environment. Interest had been stimulated by numerous incidents and by the creation of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

This growing concern prompted Mr. Rimbach to establish a magazine which would be a single source of information on the products and services available to meet the needs of these disciplines. Industrial Hygiene News is being published with these concerns and requirements in mind.

The Future

Today, I have taken over the daily operations of Rimbach Publishing with the same commitment to maintaining a quality publication for our readers and advertisers. And with the recent creation of the management committee that includes myself as chair, will oversee the continuation of Pollution Equipment News and Industrial Hygiene News as leaders in their respected fields.
