AIHce Gets a Facelift
Introducing AIHce EXP Over the years, attendees of AIHce, one of the most critically acclaimed conferences for IH/OH professionals in North America, have shared their positive and corrective feedback. This year the conference organizers, AIHA and ACGIH, restructured and reengineered the conference experience, bearing in mind the busy lives of its attendees.
AIHce EXP 2017, being held in Seattle, Washington, June 4–7, is being promoted as “The EXPerience” of the year for IH and OEHS professionals across the country. Conference attendees will be exposed to the latest trends, needs, and research impacting worker health through experiential education sessions, networking opportunities with like-minded professionals, and the tools needed to solve workplace challenges. This highly rated event also offers a robust virtual experience for those who want to reap the benefits of conference without the travel. But first, here’s a look at what’s new at the live event:
Streamlined Conference Schedule
The AIHce EXP 2017 conference schedule is more user-friendly and efficient to ensure attendees never miss a minute of the sessions that are relevant to them. All education sessions are a uniform 60 minutes in length. The schedule now features comfortable breaks that allow attendees to easily transition from one session to the next without missing a beat.
More Engaging Educational Experience
Session speakers have been challenged to create a new kind of learning environment that actively involves participants, sparks thoughtful dialogue, and allows attendees to experience the leading edge of the latest advances and innovations in industrial hygiene.
Busy professionals often can’t be away from their workplace for more than just a few days at a time. In response to popular demand, AIHce EXP will be one day shorter than in previous years, with the brand-new addition of free access to AIHce ON DEMAND from July through December 2017. This bonus feature, valued at over $250, will allow full-conference registrants to experience AIHce EXP on site and still have the latitude to take additional credit hours upon returning to the workplace.
Game-Changing Quality Content
AIHce EXP 2017 will feature an unprecedented OEHS lineup with strong content that is relevant, focused, and actionable. This year attendees can choose from a wide variety of the industry’s hottest topics, dive deep, ask questions, bring the game-changing takeaways back to the workplace...and put them to work.
No conference is complete without great opening and closing sessions. This year, AIHce EXP will feature notable speakers who will be bookending the conference.
Kicking off the AIHce EXPerience is keynote speaker Ken Jennings, best known for his six-month winning streak on Jeopardy! He speaks tirelessly about the importance of learning, and has co-invented two popular trivia games. Jennings is the author of three books, which cover topics from trivia in pop culture to geography. His keynote session promises to be full of enlightening anecdotes and vital information on the increasing value of day-to-day learning and education.
The Wednesday Closing Session will showcase developmental molecular biologist, Dr. John Medina. His studies focus on the genes involved in human brain development and the genetics of psychiatric disorders. A consultant who primarily works with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, Medina is considered one of the leaders in understanding and improving the human brain.
For the first time the education sessions at AIHce EXP will be grouped into convenient and focused tracks, allowing attendees to experience a variety of presentations within the same subject area. Tracks will connect conference attendees with a vast network of the IH/OH professionals who are shaping the industry today.
A Strong Finish
AIHce is known as the premiere conference for the IH/OH community, but it’s more than an educational meeting… it is anticipated to be an experience, from start to finish. After days of high-value, well-planned, engaging sessions, AIHce EXP 2017 will wrap up on Wednesday afternoon with a dynamic general session guaranteed to spark your imagination and send conference attendees home with even more ideas and inspiration to use in the workplace.
PDCs Before (and After)!
AIHce EXP 2017 is a three-day conference with six potential days of learning. This year, attendees can supplement their sessions by attending Professional Development Courses (PDCs) before and after the conference. These valuable PDCs are being offered on Saturday, June 3, Sunday, June 4, and Thursday, June 8. PDCs offer a deep dive into a topic that will boost one’s knowledge, enhance skills, and help maintain professional certifications with potential to earn a large amount of CM points.
Non-Competing Committee Meetings
For attendees who are also AIHA volunteers and committee leaders, the revamped schedule ensures that committee meetings are held before or after daily sessions so they won’t interfere with the valuable education offerings.
